boot problem at POST

    That battery is on the motherboard; its a coin sized 3 volt battery. It does die and could be the cause the problem. Its easy to check using a volt/multimeter; the battery is $3 and can be picked up anywhere.

    Checking the cables and the cards are a good idea. Over time they could come loose and lost good contact. Check the orientation of cables for the posssiblity they are plugged in in reverse.
