hi there im having major prolems with my pc, i had my phone plugged in and hibernated my computer then unplugged my phone not realising it would cause this problem, but now i can't boot up as a message appear just after the post menu saying that the computer failed to start on the last attempt from its previous location, it gives two option of which i can select none as my keyboard wont move. these options are delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu and also continue with system restart. the only way i could get around this last time was to disconnect my harddrive and begin the windows setup procedure then plug back in when installation begins but i lost everything and i do not wish to do this again, so if any one has any answers to this problem i would much appreciate it thanks(y)

Learn from your experience.

NEVER, NEVER plug or unplug electronic devices with power on!

This is a general electronics rule-of-thumb. Phone lines are electronic devices. You should power-down your PC, and to be extra sure, unplug the power cable from the power supply.

The exceptions are devices like USB Flash Drives which are designed to be plugged-in with PC powered up. But note, to unplug this device, you Windows provides a Safe-to-Remove icon/dialog.
