My computer has started to refuse to come on until I have switched it on and off several times.
I switch on at the power source and all of the hardware also connected (printer, CDwriter, usb hub) light up and the light on the back of the computer comes on. When I press the power button on the comp. nothing - I then have to switch off and on again several times before boot up commences. Then it is fine. No error messages, no freezing etc.
I can't think of an answer! Any ideas anyone?:(

Thanks for the suggestion DanO - the power button seems okay - not stuck or anything like that. But the problem has started getting worse - at first I only needed to do it the once but now it can be 4 or 5 times. I tried just leaving the power switched on and turning the computer on with the power button and that worked ok - booted on just the one go but this meant keeping the computer always powered up.
Then a couple of times over the last week I did that and all that happened was that the screen changed from black to misty grey and no boot up. So off I went again - switched the power on and off and pressed power button and it happily booted!
Is it just getting tired? I have the computer on all day as a rule - only switching off at night. It all started when I loaded a usb hub - which may be just coincidence. It makes no difference if I disconnect the hub.

I had a buddy who had the same problem and the power button appeared to be okay. He purchased a new case to fix the problem, which was cheaper then taking it into a shop to fix the button.

jcoll: Have you been inside your computer at one time?
Maybe your Power swithc leads came undone or loose or something. Check it out.
