This is starting to happen just a few days with my new upgraded system.

When I shut down my computer completely (go to "Start" and "Shut Down") and start it up again, it won't show nothing, just a blank screen.

So, I have to turn the PSU to "off", (because I can't turn it on by pushing the power button on the front case, I don't have a wire going to the "reset" part on the motherboard), then switch it "on", and push the power button.

When it starts up on the second time, it boots normal. Why do you think it does that?

did you reinstall windows when you replaced your mobo??? xp dont take mobos being changed too well. you would at minimum need to uninstall drivers to old mobo first before you remove it.

and the next time you power down like that all you need to do is hold power button for 5 seconds

Yes, the motherboard rejected XP on my Maxtor 60GB, I solved that problem by buying another harddrive and did a clean install on that. So, I'm booting from my new drive with the new XP install, but I have the old drive with the XP (and also 98) on the side.
