Have a generic desktop loaded with XP Pro that won't boot properly.

I am trying to boot from CD to repair, but can't get machine to do so. I've tried using the F1, F2,F7,F8 and Delete keys with out success for access...

Any suggestions on how to proceed...?

TIA

Ok, restart the computer and tap the Delete Key. Press F5 or F9 to reset bios defaults. Then press F10 to save and exit. Now see if it boots off of the recovery console.

Hopefully you didn't add a video card or anything because that could mess those settings up because it would revert to the orignals.
