I’m putting a carousel on my web site.
Getting it going is quite simple once I attach the css.
Trouble is the bootstrap.css ruins my whole page.
Can someone tell me how to restrict this css to the carousel only.

    My id=Mycarousel to external css
When I attach the css it loads into the header and affects the whole page.

It will do, that is how CSS works. You could call the Bootstrap CSS before your own CSS but that would likely screw up the carousel.

One way around this would be to look at your CSS definitions and change the names of your elements so they don't conflict with the Bootstrap CSS.

This is why I don't like Bootstrap and don't use it.

Another way is to use a different carousel that doesn't use Booststrap.

Colin, I'd use a different one if I could but every other one so far has caused problems. Unfortunately I don't have the skills to fix any of them.
I didn't think of the simple solution of changing MY element name.
If you know of a good carousel I'd be more than happy to give it a go.

I can't believe the size of the bootstrap css. It has 6785 lines in it.

That is one of the reasons that I don't use it.

Sorry I don't know of an alternative, 90% of my web work is now done using Wordpress and there are loads of carousel plugins for Wordpress.
