I am getting this error message at bootup. "00034066.exe unable to locate component. This application failed to start because LTKRN1ON.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." What application is the message referring to? I don't notice any problems with the programs that I am using but would like to know what the message means.

Can anybody give me any advice or am I in the wrong forum for this question? I'm still getting the same error message at bootup even after all the scans.

If "00034066.exe" is a program you don't use, you can use msconfig to disable it from starting when your computer starts. It won't start and look for the missing .dll file and you won't get the message anymore.

Run HJT again and check this for deletion:
    O4 - Startup: [email protected] = C:\RECYCLER\NPROTECT\00034066.EXE

The last 2 or 3 times I rebooted the computer the error message did not show up. I will do another hjt scan and repost.
    Thanks for your help.
