When printing a page in Microsoft Word 2002 I received a message stating that the page borders (bottom) are set outside the printable area of the page.

In the border and options window I set the top and bottom margin to 31 Pt, but the border is still cut off.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

does a 'fix margins' message come up?

try increasing the page/border margin until the message disappears
(ie to 35, to 40, to 45, to 50)

my 'fix' button sets it to 30 on top, 46 on bottom

The problem now is that I can't center the border on the page even though the entire border prints. Any additional information would be appreciated. Thank you.

I use Word 2000, but I don't think it's different for 2002. I used the default setting, which is 24 pt. on all sides. It printed without difficulty, although the LEFT border is closer to the edge than the RIGHT one when I print. I would adjust the left setting until it matches the right setting when it prints. Perhaps there is a more elegant way to do this, but it gets the job done. ;)

Now I can't get the border to be parallel to the edge of the page. Any other information would be appreciated, thank you.

If your border isn't parallel with the edge of the page, that isn't a Word problem. Your printer is probably feeding the paper crooked. This has happened to me on a LaserJet when the paper tray wasn't properly seated.

But Dreamboat, what makes it print off to the left when the settings are equal? The only way I could figure out to *fix* that problem was to cheat on the left setting.

Speaking about that border that was created by "fish cross", I would like to try his suggested method.

You told us to go to Format --> Borders and Shading --> Page Borders.

I would like to know how to export that border to Microsoft Word to change the art border.

For everyone else please note that that the problem now is again that the right border is closer to the edge of the page than the left border.

Any further information would be appreciated. Thank you.

I don't understand what that means, Craig. You're in Word when you use the page border...

If you want an artistic border, likely you'll have to use a different method:

View-header and footer.
Insert-Picture, from file (or clipart)...
