Whenever I open any game application on my laptop the brightness dims - this is becoming very annoying for me as I cant play effectively.

I have researched into this and think it might have something to do with adaptive brightness?

I have searched my display settings, power settings, Intel applications etc and I have enabled and disabled various options but cant seems to fix the issue.

I have come to this website in the hope someone else can help.

Tried all of the below and I was either unable to perform them as elements refered to in the instructions weren't present on my version of windows 10 or I did exactly as instructed to no avail.

check the in-game brightness options, maybe the game resolution is lowered that's why brightness is dropping, look internal configurations of the game.
