Say i had 2 phone lines, each with 2mb broadband but from different ISP's. would it be possible to connect them both at once to my PC to achieve a 4mb connection, or would they cancel each other out??

If you have a dual-WAN router, you'll be able to use them both. Of course, for a single connection, you won't combine the bandwidth, but for multiple computers on the router, it'll show up.

Yeah, I agree with John. I think the dual-wan router setup is more for load balancing. So, if you had 2 x 2MB lines, you can download 2 files, both at the full 2MB, but it won't add up for 4MB.
