    Hi,
I have a cable broadband connection which works great. However, sometimes when I try to view a website (not any one in particular), the Dial-up connection dialog box pops up. If I choose connect, it starts trying to connect using dial-up. If I choose cancel, I get the 'work offline' dialog box, and most of my Favourites list is greyed out and I have to close down IE and open it again. I can then connect using broadband again. While this problem isn't a show-stopper, it is damn annoying!!

    Any ideas ?!

Make sure in Internet Explorer - browser settings - connection tab - never dial a connection
is chosen. if it isn't then choose it and click ok then restart the computer. If it is and you still get dial up box i will look into the problem further.

Thanks for the reply. I have now done that (it was set to 'Dial Whenever Network Connection Not Present'), so only time will tell if the problem persists. However, I still don't see why Windows would try to acces the web using dial-up when I have a broadband connection, unless its just one of those lovely little windows quirks that we all love so much!!
