Hi im on "orange broadband" & should be getting 8Meg but since last week ive noticed im getting much faster speed

Usually when I have done a speed test I was getting around 6meg

the only thing i can put it down to is ive changed my landline phone package from BT to post office (would this have any effect...?)

Orange default BB speed is now up to 16 MB and they will always give you what your line will stand. I have seen reported speeds anywhere from 12 to 19 on Orange BB recently, since they were taken over by EE & a half-way decent network put in and some techs that appear to actually know what they are doing

I doubt if Orange actually bother to monitor the speeds. It could be that you changed landline from BT to Post Office & your physical telephone wire goes to less crowded port in the exchange so the BB is faster because it has less other users to share with.

Generally it's a hidden upgrade... we recently upped our upload speed for the 70Mbps down from 2Mbps to 6Mbps :D

    Consider it a gift :D
