anyone got any experience with this machine? I called the tech support line - and it was a total waste of time. Ready to return the product if I can't get some answers to envelope printing problems

    Hi and welcome to TSG,

Not sure if I can help but am working with a Brother Printer but not that particular model.

Can you explain in more detail exactly what the problem is when printing envelopes?

I am doing a merge of personalized addresses - using Microsoft Word 2000, with a Windows XP OS. The paper tray allows for a center positioning only for #10 envelopes, with return address area in the left rear corner of tray (if front of tray is the portion that goes furthest into the machine).

My merge document looks great on screen of computer, but consistently prints above the midline - near top horizontal edge - instead of the correct lower 1/2 position. I have tried adding a 2" top margin to reposition the printing - worked on about 10 envelopes, then reverts back to incorrect positioning.

    what do you suggest?
    Thanks,
    Anne

Compared to HP - how do you rate overall quality and life span of the Brother machines? I am alittle nervous - this MfC92420CN was over $1000, but the paper tray adjustments, and paper tray in general seem cheap. Also their tech support is pitiful compared to HP.
    Anybody . . . ?

This is a multifunctional and very different from the simple printer I'm working with. I'm not up on mail merges either so I can't really be of any help, unfortunately.

I'm sure someone will be able to help you. :)
