Whenever I use Bing, Google, or Yahoo and click a link in the search results I get redirected to a webpage totally different, usually an ad. An example is Star Feeds Mixer. I am using Windows Vista Basic. My HijackThis log is below. Any help would be appreciated.

Windows Vista SP1 hasn't been upgraded to SP2, so you're using an outdated operating system that's lacking system-related enhancements and fixes.

You're using Advanced Registry Optimizer, so you've possibly damaged the operating system and broken some of your programs.

So how do I fix the problem? Reinstall the operating system?

I would do a clean reinstall of Windows Vista SP1, then upgrade it to SP2, then install the post-SP2 important/recommended updates.

Once Windows Vista is completely up-to-date, install your antivirus and antimalware/antispyware programs before you install any optional programs.

I personally recommend installing these 3 - which are all free and very user-friendly:

    Microsoft Security Essentials 2.1.1116.0

    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.51.2.1300

    SUPERAntiSpyware 5.0.0.1136

Stay completely away from registry cleaner/booster/optimizer/tuneup/tweak type programs, no matter what they claim they can do.
