My browsers (Firefox, MIE, Opera) have been hijacked. I can browse normally, but all of a sudden, the page will jump to an advertisement. This same attack has caused my Norton Antivirus to stop working, prevented me from reinstalling it, and kept me from visiting some antispyware websites. I have posted the HijackThis log file below.

    Thanks for your help-

Your are running Hijack this in the temp folder

Please Download this zip file here
    • Unnzip it and double click the vbs script inside it
    • HJT will be moved from the temp folders and placed properly and opened ready to run
    • If you have a script blocker you might get a message warning about the script.
    • IT IS SAFE so allow it to run

You have a L2Me infection and others.

First we need to disable Microsoft Anti-Spyware, because it will effect the fix

Before starting any cleaning steps, please disable the Microsoft Anti-Spyware real-time protection:
    1. Right-click on the Microsoft Anti-Spyware tray icon by your clock (it's the one with the red and yellow bulls-eye).
    2. Click on "Security Agents Status".
    3. Click on "Disable real-time protection".

    Next, open Microsoft Anti-Spyware.
    1. Click on the Options menu, then Settings.
    2. Select "Real Time Protection" from the left column.
    3. Uncheck "Enable (MSAS) Security Agents" and "Enable real-time spyware threat protection".
    4. Click the Save button.
Finally, Right-click on the MSAS tray icon, select "Shutdown Microsoft Antispyware", and click "Yes" in the dialog that comes up.

You can reenable it once your system is clean.

You have the latest version of VX2. Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:
    http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
    http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so! This Fix must NOT be run in safe mode for it to work.

If you receive, while running option #1, an error similar like: ''C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate the application.."...then please use option 5 or the web page link in the l2mfix folder to solve this error condition. do not run the fix portion without fixing this first.

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter.
It will process then start. Your desktop and icons will disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, it will be ready for a reboot. Press any key to reboot. After the reboot notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so! Do Not run in safe mode!!
If after the reboot the log does not open double click on it in the l2mfix folder.

When I run option #2, it seems to start working, opening another command prompt with a blinking cursor. It then just sits there and does not do anything else.

I did run it again and let it go all night with the same result. It is still running with the blinking cursor now. Is this normal?

    Lets try this

Download KILLBOX, extract it to your desktop.

    Please reboot into safe mode

Run HijackThis, and press "Do a System Scan Only".
    1. When the scan is complete place a check mark next to the following entries:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winsync] C:\WINDOWS\system32\oycacp.exe reg_run
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [adobemgr] C:\WINDOWS\system32\adobemgr.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CU1] C:\Program Files\Common Files\VCClient\VCClient.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CU2] C:\Program Files\Common Files\VCClient\VCMain.exe
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: MS-DOS Emulation - C:\WINDOWS\system32\hr0u05d9e.dll

    2. After checking these items CLOSE ALL open windows EXCEPT HijackThis and click "Fix Checked." DO NOT REBOOT WHEN DONE

    Open killbox.exe.

    First

    Click on Tools>Delete Temp Files

A box will open with a list of all user profiles.

Check the following boxes at a minimum for each profile by clicking on the drop down and checking the boxes that are enabled. Some will not apply and those boxes will not be available to check. Make sure you do this for all the profiles listed.

L2M is running again, cursor blinking.

Just as a heads up, ran Killbox in safe mode- unable to find:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\hr0u05d9e.dll
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\VCClient\VCMain.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\adobemgr.exe
    Unable to delete:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\oycacp.exe

Deleted VCClient folder, but would not let me delete WinRAR due to RarExt.dll - deleted all other files in folder.

Thanks again for all your help.
