Browser Problems

I normally run MSN browser for the internet via Verizon as well as Internet Explorer. My MSN account randomly started acting up and I couldn't sign into to any Passport Network information, hotmail, etc. I attempted to upgrade to IE 7 hoping that would help and now nothing works. I can ping any website so my connection seems fine, but none of my browsers are working anymore. I tried re-installing Verizon DSL. I tried re-creating new network connections. Neither of those work. I tried a system restore and that didn't work either. What can I do?
