everytime I try to play music from the internet through my windows media player I get the following error message:

explorer has caused an error in browsewm.dll, explorer will now close

I tried updating my media player to 9.0 hoping that would take care of the problem, but still the same problem.

Do you have any ideas why this is happening?

    You could try Repair IE.

If you're using Win98 or ME then go My Computer > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs - click on the entry for Internet Explorer and select Repair.

Here is the method for doing the same if you're using Win XP :

Not sure that will rectify your problem so if not please post back here.
