BSoD 0x0000008e please help save pics from pc

    I have the dreaded BSoD stop:0x0000008e i cannot even boot in safe mode, dell tech support says nothing is wrong that i must reinstall windows xp however i have pictures on this pc i so want to save, is it possible?????? please help these pics are very important. any information please. is there another way to fix this pc without reinstalling xp?

    download a Linux Live CD with full NTFS read/write support (e.g. Ubuntu 7.10, Knoppix) and boot you computer from CD. now you can backup your important files to any attached USB mass storage device.

    thank you very much for the information, could you please tell me where the best place to get this from would be, i am so ignorant about pc's and am so afraid to mess up at this. thank you again.
