So I bought all the parts needed to build a new computer. I'm installing a legit copy of Windows XP SP2. I pop the cd in, run the disk, format the drive, it copies necessary files to install XP, and restarts itself. Then I get to the Windows logo, and I can see it installing (that blue screen showing what step it's at, with the fun facts about XP, yatta yatta) and the BAM - I get a BSOD.

I'm out of ideas. What should I do? What does this error code mean?

I am new to this problem so I googled it. and from what i read it seems that windows xp have this problem from time to time due to improper hardware configuration. have you tried installing another OS.

also they say it is a problem related to hard disk. check your hard disk connection. that is, if it is connected as a master SATA and the jumper is set to slave. or if the HD is connected to a slave SATA port.
