Hi,

As the title says: BSOD with error: STOP 0x0000008E + info that the igxpdd32.dll Intel video driver is involved.

The latter seems indeed probable, because some time before I had been viewing-using sketchup files, the heavier ones signifying as expected an enormous load on my sturdy little ACER notebook. This imposition translated in a marked slowing down of operations inside and outside sketchup. This stopped once the program was closed. However, when trying to find an address in Google Maps (Chrome browser) with sketchup out of the way, the slowdown occurred again, but this time far worse. Obviously there was something wrong with the whole system: never before had Chrome - apart from its known quirks - given any trouble of the kind, let alone Google maps. And within a few minutes the BSOD came up (in all the minus 2 years I have had this Netbook, I've had only one BSOD before!)

Is it a one-off phenomenon? Would downloading a new igxpdd32.dll driver and overwriting the old one help?

[Something else has been occurring lately which could or could not be related to this - see my other thread about "Word 2002 wants to re-install itself after boot".]

Attached a SysInfo file and the Minidump following the BSOD.

Thanks for helping me resolve the problem.

Best
