    I've been attempting to reformat a dell dimension 4800. I've tried several windows xp discs, I usually get Session3_initialization_failed stop: 0x0000006f (0xc000012f, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
    "STOP: C0000221 unknown hard error"
or unable to load (insert something here).sys
I have ran seatools, and memtest86. I have checked all drivers, I have cleaned the registry, I have disconnected all unnecessary hardware, and scoured all forums. I ran a boot sector scan, I've rest bios to default settings.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

Did one of the XP disks have Dell printed on it? That's the only one which will work in my experience.

i think where they mentioned they cleaned the registry that just might be what is causing the problems. we always tell everyone please dont use registry cleaners as they do way more harm then good.they can use either a dell branded copy of windows xp or borrow a copy of windows xp pro or home which ever the computer came with and use the key thats on the computer if it needs activated.hopefully trying a clean reinstall might solve this.hope this helps.
