    Hi All,

I hope you can help us with this. My gf has been using an Acer Aspire 5532 with an AMD Athlon 64 bit processor with Windows 7. She's been working on her personal statement for grad schools, and her laptop's been slow for a few days. I asked when her last reboot was; she didn't know, so we rebooted.
Apparently, she had quite a few automatic updates installing, it shut down, then it BSOD'ed!

    The error message is: UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
    ***STOP: 0x000000ED (0xFFFFFA80030BFCD0, 0xFFFFFFFFC0000185, 0x000000000000000, 0x000000000000000)

I can't boot in safe mode, none of the system recovery options in the safe mode boot menu work. I can't boot in Knoppix; I get an error there as well. Safe mode with command prompt stops at the atipcie.sys file in the Drivers folder.

I have no idea what she downloaded recently, and if it's due to something she downloaded or the autoupdates.

Please tell me there's some way to at least get these files off the computer before i do a system restore?!
    Thank you!
