bsod upon waking up from sleep mode

    well i have a fairly new hp pavilion G series laptop less then 3 months old and everything was fine till about a week ago. it started everytime i closed the lid and left it in sleep mode then i come back after about an hour or so and open it seems to be coming back on then just restarts and it loads windows and restarts itself again and says windows has failed to load trying to find a fix or something in that direction not 100% sure what it says. but now it just blue screens when i wake it up from sleep mode.

    (i still have the year warenty but im not sure if this would be coverd)

    Do you have a SSD? I have had problems waking from sleep with a SSD. Not solved issue, so guess that doesn't help. I was in XP as well.

    SSD = Solid State Drive as in the latest and greatest Hard drives.....FAST!

    errr well my laptop is a hp pavilion G series and my grandma bought it for me about 3 months ago but im more smart in software not hardware so im not sure whats in it. is it possible it came factory?

    Please use the TSG System Info tool to let Tech's know the specs of your computer: http://static.techguy.org/download/SysInfo.exe Copy and paste the results here in your thread.
    Also, if its a brand name system like an Acer,Dell or HP, please post the exact model of the system.

    Antivirus: Norton Internet Security, Disabled


    and its an HP pavilion G series

    Since your not using Norton, I would suggest uninstalling it as it could be causing some of the problem as it really uses a lot of system resources. You do not have an SSD Hard drive by the way. I will include what we recommend here for an Anti-Virus program and Malware programs.
    If this problem persists, I would contact HP as you are still under warranty.

    A good Anti-Virus program that is Free to use and is highly recommended here is: Microsoft Security Essentials and or Avast. http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/mse.aspx
    http://www.avast.com/en-us/free-antivirus-download

    Only have one Anti-Virus program installed at a time, otherwise the computer will not be a happy camper...

    Also recommended: These programs get along fine with your Anti-Virus program.

    http://www.superantispyware.com/?tag=SUPERANTISPYWARE (Free edition)

    Be sure to update their definition files during the install process.

    Make sure to uncheck and decline to install any extras, such as toolbars and homepages, they may offer.

    After they're installed and updated, restart the computer.

    Run a QUICK scan with each of them.

    When each scan is finished, select and remove EVERYTHING they found.

    Restart the computer, if prompted to, so the removal process can finish.

    Note: DON'T use the computer while each scan is in progress.

    It would be helpful to know the exact and full text of any error message. There are hundreds of blue screen error messages.

    i have avg and it works just fine ^-^

    Ghostskater, according to the specs you posted, you still have Norton on your system? Two Virus programs are not good and can mess up your computer.

    OK, good, so give it awhile and see how it does, that could have been what was causing your trouble.
