I have been getting Blue Screen every once in a while from what the Blue Screen says is bugcode_usb_driver. In the last couple of months it happened every couple of weeks, but now it is becoming more frequent. I thought it was because my graphics driver was out of date but that wasn't it either.

It happens somewhat randomly. Sometimes I'll be reading a webpage and it'll go off, other times it's when I'm trying to set the computer to hibernate or sleep mode. It never goes off when I'm playing a game or watching a video. The computer acts normally and it boots just fine.

I'm on an Asus G60JX laptop running windows 7, I'll post the Sysinfo and some of the mini-dumps. I'll post anything else you guys need to help.

    Thanks so much.

If you post the minidumps in .zip form, I can try to help you.

Try using your computer without any USB devices connected.

When did the problem begin? Sometimes the date is important.

When did the computer last work well? What changed; a hardware or software install or removal; an update to W7 or to a program [ anti malware, java, or an Adobe program for example ]?
Check your computer's W7 update history.

Here's are the dumps in a .zip

I believe that the problem started in the last couple of months of last year. The blue screens were so spread out that I thought that each time I fixed it. I don't think there were too many major software changes in that time from the update history.

The weirdest part about it though, most of the time nothing is plugged in when it crashes. Not even power, though it has crashed with things plugged in as well.

Please provide the steps you mentioned. I wouldn't want to waste your time suggesting something that you have already tried.

I made sure that my graphics driver was up to date, reinstalled steam as it was causing problems when a usb device was plugged in, uninstalled a bunch of programs that I had and wasn't using, made sure windows was updated, and and ccleaner a couple times.

    Dear Andy:
The most recent minidump references: usbhub!_DEVICE_EXTENSION_HUB

AND it notes a Vista Driver!
    DEFAULT_BUCKET_ID: VISTA_DRIVER_FAULT

    BUGCHECK_STR: 0xFE

    I'll analyze the rest, soon!

Thanks for that, I'll look up those drivers to see if I can update them.

OR find an older driver. Newer is not always better.

    You are welcome.

    Keep us posted.

I checked my model and there were no drivers that referred to what you posted. There was one usb driver thats a mouse utility that I'm going to try but I doubt it will help.

Look for motherboard or chipset drivers.

Return to the ASUS product page, copy the URL & paste it in a reply.

I couldn't find your ASUS because I don't know its series.

I installed the update they had for my intel chipset, not sure if it fixed anything though.
