Well, the last two blue screens were about five days apart so we'll see.

I guess I shouldn't mark as solve just quite yet.

    Thanks again.

I suggest that you mark the case solved after you are satisfied with the status of your computer. That may take a week or two, when problems occur intermittently. I hope it does NOT return. You can always ask a moderator to consider re-opening your thread. I am not involved in that decision. I am like 1000s of Tech Guy Forum volunteers who has some ability & a desire to help others.

    Keep us posted.

    Best of success.

Bad news, it happened again. I was just browsing the web when it happened this time. I'll post the minidump.

So the chipset update didn't do anything.

Which devices do you have connected via USB to your computer?

Do you have, for example, a printer or multi function device that has a card reader?

Do you have a card reader that is connected via USB internally OR extrernally?

    Thanks for the download URL.

There is a link, at THAT page for a card reader and USB. :)

    I suggest:
    create a restore point
download the USB & card reader driver files, and the manual.

Try to determine which steps are recommended by ASUS to upgrade the drivers.

    Might be:
control panel > upper right, set view by to large icons > programs and features > <something > drivers > select usb
    uninstall
    reboot
    run usb drivers setup program

    repeat for card reader.

    THOSE are merely guesses.

    edit:
Create a screen shot of device manager. Save it to your hard drive & to a flash drive AND / OR an optical disk. Just in case.

There are several additional items under "Other". I don't think you would need them, but I am NOT an Asus expert.
    end edit.

Thanks, Andy, for the most recent minidump.

    Unsurprisingly, same data.

Try updating the USB drivers firstly, wait for as long as you want.
Declare the problem solved or update the card reader drivers, depending upon the results.

Also, please answer my question re a card reader on a device connected via usb.

Thanks so much for the info. I've been busy but as soon as I get a chance I'll start working on what you said.

Thanks again for the help, and wish me luck.
