I'm building a computer and was wondering if you all could check out the parts I have picked out and let me know what you think. Also any suggestions you have, just throw them out there. I'll be using the computer for gaming(HL2, Halo, DOOM3, LOTR: BFME, Rome: TW, Battlefield 2), Internet browsing, e-mail, and school homework(Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint). In some areas I haven't made up my mind. Like for a processor, it would be cool to have the fastest cpu for gaming, but they don't come cheap. I want a cpu that can play today's games and future games at the highest settings. Like I said, any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Does anyone know if the psu that comes with the Aspire case is a good one? I like the case because it displays the temps on the front and it has good lots of fans to keep the air moving. But if the psu isn't a good one, then I don't think I should get it.

Sorry don't think I would go with either of those power supplies especially the aspire. There having a live stress test at Tomshardware right now and the Pc power and cooling http://www.pcpowercooling.com/home/ looks very good http://www17.tomshardware.com/howto/200507111/index.html wish I had spent more money on a better ps when I bought mine, I need to upgrade it already.Check the forum here for how many issues are caused by poor power supplies.

I guess price doesn't really matter? If so then this is what I'm down to:

or
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Toledo 2000MHz FSB Socket 939 Dual Core Processor Model ADA4800CDBOX - Retail

ViewSonic VX724 17" 4ms (gray-to-gray); 6ms (white-black-white) (typ) LCD Monitor - Retail
or
acer AL1912b Black 19" 16ms LCD Monitor - Retail

Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA NCQ ST3160827AS-RK 160GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - Retail

Either speaker.

And if you're getting a different PSU anyway just go with whatever case you like best. Where I posted 2 of your choices those are ones that I cannot decide between.

The Tsunami is an excellent case. I have it and it runs cool. The LEDs on it aren't blinding either. The front door is rock solid. The side panel is a little flimsy, if you carry it horizontal and with one hand. Solution, use to hands or carry vertically. So really, it is a non issue. I'd for sure get the BFG model as it has a lifetime warranty. If price does not matter, get two 7800's and run them in SLI. As for a monitor, make sure wherever you get it from they have a friendly dead pixel policy. My $500 (Slight mistake on my part) NEC monitor shipped with a dead pixel and I was unable to get it RMA'd.

Most only RMA if it has 8 dead ones. My Dell has a dead one but I don't really care since It's right up in the right hand top corner.

Would the AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego be really good for gaming and also fit my other needs? If it is, then I wouldn't have to spend a $1,000 on a processor. Which would be nice.

RAM is the same
Hard drive will perform the same as the SATA one you picked out.

How much are you going to spend on this computer?

The timing on them is alittle different. OCZ ram is at 2-2-2-5, and the Kingston is at 2-3-2-6. Would that make any difference?
