I just put all my parts in my computer and installed Windows 7, but I am not connecting to the internet. I am using an ethernet cable, and I know there is a connection running through it because it is the one I use for xbox live. My motherboard is an Asus m4a88t-m and it has like its own little operating system with it that allows me to get on to the internet as well, but I don't like its set up. Any ideas on why I can't get an internet connection when I have windows 7 up?

Is your ethernet listed under Network Adapters in Device Manager? What, if any, warnings or errors are in Device Manager?

    Please show ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start)

    Type the following command:

    IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.
