Built In Sound Card Woes

    My computer has an onboard sound card and everything was fine with it until i reformatted. Now it wont find its own driver, and i dont know what driver it would be or what to do. As much information as i can think to post:
    Computer-
    Genuineintel
    x86 family 6 model 8 stepping 3
    191mb ram

    i dunno what else to write, please help

    There should be a Disk that came with your computer that has the drivers on it.

    Hi and welcome.

    Can you post your IRQ listing?

    I'm assuming you are running 98 or ME?

    Start button, run, then type msinfo32 and hit ok...go to hardware, IRQs, edit, select all, edit, copy and come back and paste.

    One thing i just realized. It see's the card and all the gameport stuff too, but i just dont have the drivers. Where do i find them, i have no disk.

    What you need is a brand name and a model for the computer and/or motherboard! Genuine Intel doesn't tell us much...

    Go to www.belarc.com and let the site read what you have on your computer. It should give the make and model of the motherboard. Maybe we can go on from there

    the drivers you told me to download didnt work. Everytime i start up it asks me to install a pci soundcard or a pci communcations device

    oh yea and when i installed the drivers it said that they werent made for my sound card and might not work

    Yes, the modem appears to be missing as well....you must be connecting to the internet with the NIC card, correct?

    Also, is this an E-Machine?

    yea, im using the nic card, i dont even need the modem but i just left it in. Whats the sandra program do that the belaric advisor that the other guy told me to download doesnt?

    Is there any brand name description on the outside of the case? I believe HP either does, or did use those motherboards too.
