Hi, got easy media creator and have a new dvd burner (NEC 2510A).

I go to make a new dvd. My media size is 4.36GB available.

I take a 700MB movie file on my computer that I want to add to the dvd project, and thats ALL.

I add it to the dvd project, and for some reason it shows that its taking up the WHOLE dvd and MORE, (6gb!!!). I have to set quality to "low" just to get it to 2.4GB

Why can't i just add it as the 700MB that it really is and keep it the quality that it is.

I am so frustrated, please someone help ASAP!!

did easy CD creator come with the dvd drive - there are loads of compatability issues with roxio supplied with drives and only work on limited drives.
you should be able to go to the website and get updates for drives.

wahts the version of roxio you have !

ok, but all that tells me is roxio is saying it SHOULD work. but it doesnt.

It recognizes the drive- thats not the problem, its just that i add a 700mb video file and it turns into 6GB, saying its too large for the disc.

Also, i've noticed problems with my nec 2510a. I have it in an external usb 2.0 enclosure (maybe thats a problem? is it faster inside the case?)

Well, when I open my computer, it shows the nec 2510a as "DVD-R Drive" but never recognizes any discs. For ex., i put a disc in, try to open it, it says "please insert disc into drive D"

I've used two types of media, 1) off brand 2x dvd-R that i had from a few years ago 2) TDK 4x DVD+R that i bought at best buy last week. Both are never recognized by windows XP.

however, oddly, i can still burn onto them ... its just all so confusing.

    please help!
    thanks
