Burning a DVD

HELP!!!

When I try to burn a dvd, it says it is copyrighted. How do I get around that. I know there is a way because they wouldnt sell dvd burners if you couldn't burn them. Please help me!!!

Welcome to TSG - The issue of copying copy protected DVDs seems to be something of a grey area. There are those who say that you can legitimately make a backup of DVDs you own - however obviously somebody who wants to copy DVDs that they merely rented from Blockbuster would make the same claim.

Are you trying to burn a dvd from video you have compiled yourself or are you trying to copy a dvd?

A company called 321 Studios (http://www.321studios.com/) used to offer software that could do this....however, they were taken to court and have been required to remove the part of the software that could overcome the copy protection in current and future releases.
