Ok, I'm having a bit of trouble burning a DVD here, I can download them and watch them on my computer with no problem at all its just getting them onto the disc and hoping they work on my dvd player.

I have a fairly new computer (vista) and when i insert my blank DVD cd's a message comes up with the following options...

    burn a dvd data disc
    burn files to disc
burn a dvd video disc < i choose this one and windows vd maker came up, but when i try to add items (the film) an error message comes u and says the programme has stopped working ???

can anyone give me a hand here ?

    thanks in advance

You may want to visit the TSG rules: http://www.techguy.org/rules.html

Circumventing Copy Protection - While we believe it's reasonable to make backup copies of CDs and DVDs that you own, a lot of people break copy protection for the wrong reasons. The law is still vague, at best, as to if it is legal to break copy protection in order to make such a backup, even for personal use. (The DMCA, for example, seems to make it illegal.) As a result, we do not allow discussion of how to break copy protection at this time. If we can find a nice way to draw the line, we may reconsider this in the future as laws get sorted out.
