Hey,all. This is my first thread after joining this forum. Just to let u all know that this forum has been such a great help to me. Thank you tech maestros out there who shared your knowledge. (y)

However, i have this problem that I don't think anyone has ever posted. I am using Nero burning ROM version 6.3.1.15. Nero Start Smart 1.0.1.18. i am using a Samsung combo Drive CDRW/DVD SM-352N 52x24x52x16x. I used a blank Imation CD-R to burn about 20 songs using Nero. The songs are in mp3 format and I believe Nero converts them to audio files because i chose the option >> make audio cd.

After burning the CD, I played it on my PC.It works fine with winamp and Windows Media Player. But when i play it on my discman, it skips. I could only listen to the first 4 songs and the rest was screwed up. Anyone who has a solution or who wants to share their same problem, just reply. Thanks in advance for the help. (y)

What brand CD's are you using? CD's are like most things in life.....you get what you pay for. If you buy cheap CD's you will more likely have problems than if you had used a premium CD. Buy premium CD's like a Sony, Kodak, or Mitsui.

Try burning at a slower speed. I always have problems burning music CD's whenever I burn above 16X. Even though my burner supports 32X speeds, I have the most success using slower burn speeds. Try burning one CD at a very slow speed and see if you have the same problem.

Are you using 74 min or 80 min CD's? For some reason, I've always had better results using 74 minute CD's. I can't explain it but it just seems true.

I use a variety of 80 minute CD's with excellent results, however I burn at 8x when I make the CD's. I've made the mistake of trying to hurry and burn at 32x, and the audio CD would skip in my car's player on the outer tracks.

Problem solved. Thanks, man. It works burning at 16x. The brand of my CD is Imation. It's a 80 minutes CD. Thanks forthe enlightenment. (y) But kinda think about it, wat's the point of getting a cd-rom that burns at 52x when u get all this problem?

    Hi The Jin,

52 x for data compilations if you have a good device to read them !

Hi,Chicon. I am quite blur. Forgive me. Can u evaluate? I think the Samsung combo Drive CDRW/DVD SM-352N is a good device for burning, is it not?

When you burn data files that are read on other computer CD drives, the full speed normally works fine. However, many consumer CD players, even doing MP3, seem to have trouble with CD's burned at really high speeds. The simple fix is to slow down. Is it really such a hardship to have the CD burning operation take 5 minutes vs. about half that?

    Hi The Jin,

Yes, Samsung makes good burning devices. I have the CD-RW 224B of Samsung (max x24) and it works nice.

Imation sells them they are probably made by CMC, which are probably about the cheapest discs made. Some off-brand I buy at the local junk store for $9.99/50pk are the same discs, CMC.
