I've just bought a new CD-RW complete with Ahead-Nero software. BUT, it won't open my previously recorded CD, they were recorded with Adaptech software.
    WHAT CAN BE DONE, PLEASE!!!

By open, do you mean to continue to burn on it or re-write it?

Sounds like maybe your CD was not finalized after it was burned and the session is still open. If that is the case, it can only be viewed by the burner that created it. Your only other option to get the contents of the CD will be to use some sort of data recovery software like CD-recover, Bad Copy, or CD Roller to read the data from the old CD in order to reburn it.

    Hi,

Dont know if this will work just a quick brain-wave:

It depends if you can read the CD-R at all.

First create a new folder on your desktop

Put the cd in to your CD-ROM -> start -> run -> in the dialog box type D:\ or the letter of your CD-ROM then click OK, Once the file opens copy each track and past it in to the new folder on your desktop.
Then you will have new copies on your hard drive so you can burn em again using Nero.

    Welcome to TSG.

If it was written with packet writing where you format the CD before using it you can’t continue writing to the CD with Nero or InCD. You should be able to read it if you install the Roxio UDF reader – near the bottom of the page: http://www.roxio.com/en/support/ecdc/software_updatesv4.jhtml
