    Hey all.

I plan to buy a laptop for uni. I know you have to make trade offs (cringe) but I'll list what approximate specs I'm looking for:

    - 14" screen or less
    - DVD drive
    - A decent battery life (5+ hours)
    - A decent processor
    - Not too heavy
    - I would like an ATI/NVIDIA dicrete graphics card but it's not absolutely neccessary as I won't have many games on it.

At the moment I'm looking at:
    The Compaq Presario 14" CQ41-209TX
The Lenovo Thinkpad SL 410 Performance (although possibly customized a little)

I've built PC's but never shopped for a laptop before so any help would be great.

    Cheers, Brent.

thats quite a basic requirement so most should meet your needs
The 2nd link opens a choice of 4 different laptops - so not sure which spec you are after
