Hi ppl..I had that fatal error too, but I tried to reinstill windows 98se and now I have a new problem. When it gets to the ScanDisk part it gets to Directory Structure and the then a Grey window comes up saying "Problem Found" The C:\ DIR0001\ is damaged it is currently unusable...so I clicked Fix It, but it doesn't...any ideas what I can do to fix this?? Thanks

As I suggested to BIGALX58, you must post your own thread as what may work for CHRISDR, may not work for you. Open a new thread.

Meanwhile, run Scandisk in MSDOS. Restart the computer in MSDOS (Start->Shutdown->Restart in MSDOS). At the prompt type the following and press Enter:

Scandisk /all /Autofix

Upon Completion, restart the computer.

I will not attend anymore requests on this thread, unless is comming from CHRISDR

I've split this off from the prior thread to which it was posted.

That folder was created by Scandisk on a previous run. It probably contains "cross linked" files that were partially recovered.
