The folders you were emptying or deleting are dynamically created and maintained by Windows or a running application and are intended to speed up the operation of Windows or the application.
For example, a web browser cache will contain the web pages, including graphic elements, of a website you just visited. If you go back to the pages, the browser does not need to again download the page. The web browser may allow you to adjust the maximum amount of disk space used and whether it should be kept or cleared when closing the browser.
Are you emptying the Windows Recycle bin? When you delete a file, Windows tags the file's disk space as available for reuse but does delete the contents. After a long time, these available spaces get split up and scattered across the hard drive and can slow the operation of the computer. The instructions given by
@lunarlander will reorganize the remaining files for faster access and for the faster saving of new files.
Do you physically have multiple hard drives or one about 300GB drive with multiple partitions?
There was no "z" in my question. I wanted to know what you meant by " i even free a lot of space " which you did explain. Thank you.
I will be moving this thread to our Windows 10 forum as this issue is more operating system related than hardware related.
