c drive not found

    My daughter has a older computor with 3.1 that my granddaughters use just for games and right out of the blue when they turned it on it said c drive not found, command.com not found. what can i do to fix this for them?

    Well, if its an old computer, the hard drive may have crashed. Make sure you don't have any discs in your a: drive. Do you have a boot diskette?

    I tried the boot disk and it still didi not work so it looks like the hard drive is history. thanks for your help

    I wouldn't be so fast to assume the hard drive died.....can you get into your bios setup and make sure the hard drive is being recognized there? You may just need to replace the battery on the motherboard that remembers these things...... ;)
