    Hi, Welcome to TSG!!

    Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.

Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Run HJT again and put a check in the following:

    R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)
    F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\conime.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [pnvifj] C:\WINDOWS\system32\jusodl.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [jusodl] C:\WINDOWS\system32\severe.exe

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".

Click Here and download Killbox and save it to your desktop.

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.
Put a tick by Delete on Reboot.
Copy the following list of files to clipboard, CTRL+C to copy

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\severe.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\conime.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\pnvifj.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\jusodl.exe

Now in Killbox go to File, Paste from clipboard.
    Click the All Files button.
Click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle.
It will ask for confimation to delete the file.
    Click Yes.
It will ask if you want to reboot now,
    Click Yes.

Note: It is possible that Killbox will tell you that the file does not exist.

If your computer does not restart automatically then please restart it manually.
If you get an error message "PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data has been Removed by External Process!" message then just restart manually.

    Run Panda ActiveScan here

Post a new HiJack This log along with the results from ActiveScan.

Hi tried doing whatever u said but whenever i tried to use the paste from clipboard function in killbox-beta it gave me an error " you have not specified any file to delete, you must specify a file path in the yellow box". Then i manually entered locations one by one and clicked the red box. after doing it 4 times ( for 4 locations) i restarted the pc. The error was gone. I cannot run panda activescan on it as my laptop is not connected to internet.
Thanks a lot for your help.
I also wanted some help on another topic. Whenever i start my computer it starts the windows installer for a program called "VONGO" that came along with the HP laptop. it keeps on doing it and finally disappears after a long time. I am unable to remove the program using Add/remove programs. I also tried re-installing it through the setup file that came along but it could not due to some fatal error. Please help me on it. Thanks..

Please download the OTMoveIt by OldTimer.
    • Save it to your desktop.
    • Please double-click OTMoveIt.exe to run it.
    • Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

      C:\WINDOWS\system32\severe.exe
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\conime.exe
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\pnvifj.exe
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\jusodl.exe

    • Return to OTMoveIt, right click on the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be moved" window and choose Paste.
    • Click the red Moveit! button.
    • Close OTMoveIt
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

Download WinPFind3U.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named WinPFind3u on your desktop.
    • Open the WinPFind3u folder and double-click on WinPFind3U.exe to start the program.
      • In the Files Created Within group click 30 days
      • In the Files Modified Within group select 30 days
      • In the File String Search group select Non-Microsoft
    • Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
    • When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
    • Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.

Please post the resulting log here as an attachment.

Best way to fix this is to backup your data, format and reload the machine.

You can try a virus scan here: http://us.mcafee.com/root/mfs/default.asp

This infection will be on all of your drives and any thumb drives you have used on this device.

Start WinPFind3U. Copy/Paste the information in the quotebox below into the pane where it says "Paste fix here" and then click the Run Fix button.
The fix should only take a very short time. When the fix is completed a message box will popup telling you that it is finished. CLick the Ok button and Notepad will open with a log of actions taken during the fix. Post that information back here along with a new WinPFind3u scan.

Run HJT again, click on Config, Misc Tools, put checks in the boxes under Generate StartupList log and paste that log back here.
