I changed my GPUs yesterday, from 2x 8800GT to 2x GTX260's. Physically the swapover went fine, although instructions for what goes where are few and far between. I have 2 dedicated 6 pin cables from the PSU, and 2 adaptors, each going to different cables to give 2 inputs to each card. Initially, i got a POST type beep, but no display. Turned off, turned on, and got a long (5 second) beep, with a BIOS error of C1, according to the manual this is "base memory detect" error. . I tried taking out the 260's, and put a single 8800 back in, with the same error. I removed the memory, and reseated, tried a single stick, swapped for other memory from my second rig, pretty much all the combos, but didnt get a boot. Reset the CMOS by battery removal and jumper set ( have done it 1 or 50 times before, so prety sure it was correct), again no effect. In terms of power for the 260s, the leaflet manual states 22A on the 12V rail, my supplied is 30A or thereabouts.
Any ideas for this one? Would ove to get my quaddie running with a pair of 260s, just for the brag rights, LOL, but I dont want to go for a new mobo when as far as I can see I shouldnt need to. Its still under warranty, but taking the whole thing apart, sending off, and then trying to get it all back together is not a fun option :)
