Hi everyone, i was recently told by my ISP that my modem was in fact quite "out of date". So i was wondering if buying a new modem would really do anything at all, as of right now my internet works fine, very quick, stable, secure... i was wondering if updating it to one of the newest modems would have any effect at all?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I would wait till the old one goes bad. Did they say why you should replace it? Is there something important you will miss out on if you don't? If not, I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm running a pretty ancient Toshiba modem, and I don't feel any burning desire to buy another one. It manages to handle Comcasts maximum speed, which is all it needs to do. :)

bosshog hit the nail on the head. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Or it doesn't have enough buttons; either of those will work.
