    *** See attached diagram ***

I have a rather old Camcorder that records onto Compact Digital Video Cassette.

I also have a lot of cassettes, recorded with this camcorder, with travel photography from all around the world.

I would like to transfer the contents of these cassettes to hard disk.

What I am looking for is an adaptor that will accept on one side a 3-leg AV cable and on the other side a USB cable, with some electronics in-between, that will facilitate the transfer of the cassettes to the hard drive.

A "Google" of available adaptors has not turned up one that will enable this type of connection.

Thanks in advance for any ideas to resolve this.

Joe, thanks for your reply.... which now seems to have disappeared...

The link you posted is for a cable with Male connectors which is not suitable.

The AV cable (supplied with the Camcorder) has a single male connector on one end and 3 male connectors on the other end. This is a standard AV cable for connecting to, for example, a VCR machine.

What I need is a "box" that will accept the 3 male connectors from the AV cable on one side and a standard USB connector on the other side.

    Something like this?

    or this?

I've never owned a camcorder. The closest I've come to doing anything similar is connecting an old cassette player (think Walkman) to the sound card to capture the songs on the computer and e-cycle the old tapes and one of the two tape players.

I hope it does what you want it to do and the price isn't ridiculous.
