    Welcome to the Forum.

    What Brand/Model Camera ?
Maybe you have it turned off in the Camera options.

I'm not familiar with Kodak ... Maybe someone who is - will pass by here.
The only thing I can think of .. Is to see if the display got turned off in the options.
I have my Camera set this way.

As I Understand .. You can see the camera options in the Display Menus... (Tool Bars)
I'm wondering if you can preview the pictures in the Camera ?
Does everything else seem to work OK ?

As above the key issue here is, does the camera actually work, when you take a picture can you download it and see it on the PC?

As the "toll bars"? (tool bars?) work, then the LCD itself is actually working. If the camera CCD has failed then nothing in the nature of an image would be seen, nor would a picture be visible if you downloaded it to the computer.

Strongly suggests that the camera CCD (the bit that captures the image from the lens) may have failed. The logic of the diagnosis is:

As the LCD clearly works (as you can still see the tool bars) but the "image" is black, as well as the captured "image" being black when viewed on the PC, then the conclusion is that there is no "image" being captured.

So none can be displayed on the LCD.

If that is the case, repair would probably cost more than a replacement camera, if repair was even possible?
