Can a 2gb be made into a 6gb ram??

    i have just purchased a laptop toshiba satelite pro it stated 2gb ram on the official box but it has been made into a 6gb ram, which is what i wanted..... Is this possible and it wont slow the laptop down or anything will it??
    I am a beginner as you can probably tell and a worrier??
    Would really appreciate your thoughts

    if you could, could you download and run the following:


    that will let us know what type of machine you have there. If it's a 32-bit OS, 6 gigs is useless as the OS will only see ~3.75 or so.

    I'm betting it came with Windows 7(64-bit). I'm not seeing many new laptops anymore that come with 32-bit.

    What's the complete model number that's on the sticker?
