I own a game called Beyond Pearl Harbor (Pacific Warriors). Its a game involving fighter aircraft from the World War II era. When I first got it I was able to use my joystick to control the airplane. I had to buy a new joystick and I have not been able to get it to work with the game. It keeps defaulting to controls for use with a keyboard. I've had other games where you had an option to use a keyboard or joystick. But now I cannot find a way to activate the joystick part of it. Can anyone help me with this problem:confused:

When you bought this new joystick, did the package include drivers/software for the new Joystick? If it did not, then you could just go onto Microsoft or the company website to get them, or you could let the computer find them by going to the "Add/Remove hardware" section in control panel.

If you do have the software to use the joystick, does it work with any other games? Because there are certain games that I have that don't work with controllers that I plug into my computer, and I guess it's just because the games aren't compatible with the controllers.

Thanks for your help, Kaizer. I'm more inclined to agree with your last statement because I've tried just about everything else.

I would tend to agree with Kaizer. I have come across some problems in the past with certain controller types/makes and certain games. Have you looked at both the game and joystick manufacturers websites for any know compatibility issues or possible workarounds?

No, Tanis, I hadn't tried that. I'll check that out and report back.
