the color is messed up on my monitor. There is like a reddish-pink tint. I used to be able to fix it my giving it a good whack on the side and it would go right back to normal. But now it appears to be messed up for good, it appears to be a little more like a purple now and smacking it does no good. Thanks for any help

If it has a deguasse button give it a try. Make sure no magnetic devices(speakers, phones, etc)are real close to it.

It sounds like somethin is loose and it just may have made it's last move.

hmm not sure where the deguass button would be, but I did have a speaker on top of the monitor, just a little computer speaker though. Do you think I should try and get it repaired or just buy a new one?

Depends on the age and general condition of the monitor. Personally I would buy a new one, repairs can be expensive and you never know when something else will fail if it's a few years old.

It looks like this on your monitor. Also try checking the pins on your connector cable to the monitor.
