i plan to send my laptop back to dell this week but i just want to know, i have a password on my account, are dell still able to view the files?

Most likely they will be able to see your stuff if they want to. So just like I tell customers before I take there machine...

It is always best to back stuff up before send your computer anywhere. You never know what is going to happen on the other end.

It's always best to back up your computer, anyway. You never know what will happen on this end, either.

But I wouldn't worry too much about Dell seeing your documents, unless you have some top-secret stuff there. As a person who works on lots of machines, I can assure you that since I am no longer in the third grade, other people's documents, porn collections, credit-card balances, etc. are a matter of the utmost indifference to me. There is no time to both work on a machine and browse other people's documents, anyway, even if I had the smallest interest in any of it.
