Hi Again all.............since everyone was so helpful with my other problem..........perhaps this could be solved too :) I updated Windows Media Player with windows update about 2 months ago (previous updates were fine) it took over my wav and wma files and would not allow me to play them in winamp or any other player.....any suggestions about reclaiming the wav and wma files back?? Thanks guys!!!!

Did you try in WMP going Tools > Options > File Types and then unselecting the ones you want opened by another utility.

Alternatively try right clicking on a particular file and select 'Open with' then 'Browse' find the program you prefer for the task and select always open this type of file with this program.
