Can I get windows 8.1 or 8 I'm not even use to using windows yet lol I've read only bad things about windows 10, people asking about downgrading I'm on dell laptop cheers
I've split your post off into a new thread. As mentioned, please do not eack on to someone else's thread but rather start your own when you need assistance with something as it's too difficult to help more than one person at a time in a thread.
You need to post your exact system specs. It may be possible to clean install win8 however some hardware is not supported in win8 [that is why you need to post specs]
You do understand that you would need a new lic to run win8 [if it is possible]
FWIW win10 is the superior operating system.
The short answer is 'yes.' I "upgraded" to Windows 8.1 from the horrible Windows 10 as soon as I bought my Dell laptop 2+ years ago. However, with your self described Windows inexperience I do not recommend for you to do so, as driver problems are only one of the annoyances you will encounter.
Better to try to find a refurbished/used computer with Windows 8.1 already installed.
Define soon, there's over two years to go before extended support ends on January 10, 2023. I'm not in any rush to move to Windows 10 until it's absolutely necessary.
No, didn't even try Windows 10 Product Key. Really doubt that it would work. And, in my case, the laptop came with the 'home' version of Windows 10, which is not the version I wanted with 8.1.
I've been known to argue just about anything....but these days, not so much with an administrator
Personally, I'd sooner wait until an upgrade is either needed or unavoidable.
Two years breathing space doesn't seem in the realm of 'soon' in human terms.
Context, of course, is everything.
Geologically, it's less than an 'eye blink'.
Technologically, some think a 'life time'.
A Cookiegal posted, you're simply being argumentative.
