i have XP Pro and wish to connect to my xbox via the media centre connection, but xp pro doesnt have media centre readily installed, or any media extender capabilities as far as i know.
does anyone know of and extender i can download/buy to install, or a way of working round the problem i.e services, widows zero etc.

    thanks

also looking on the web, theres been a lot of success with tversity - I use this to share my media across the network, videos, music to TVs, PVR and other PC - works really well
    http://tversity.com/

I have just checked and on the tversity settings page
    theres a drop down for
media playback device and you can choose xbox from there

and again on the web, people have run without WMC connection

heres some detail on windows media player 11 and xbox
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-xp/help/windows-media-player/11/stream-xbox
does mention SP3 for XP _ what Service pack are you on
run the techguy spec will tell you
    Tech Guy configuration

i have also just started playing with http://www.serviio.org/ another good server
also here you can choose the IP of the xbox and set the profile to xbox
