I have a pretty new laptop, 2.13 ghz AMD 2800+ processor. On the system properties screen it says it is only a 508 mhz processor, and yet in safe mode it says it is running at 2.13 ghz. I called the manufacturer and they said it runs at 508 mhz to preserve power. I am wondering if there is a way to change this and make the processor move faster... I have ordered some new ram for the machine as well, but I would like to see the processor work at its full potential. Any response is appreciated. Thanks!

There will be an option to reduce the speed as etaf said. It is usually found in either the power section or the Cpu configuration section of the BIOS set-up.
